How To Commission An HVAC Chiller Without On Site Power
The Situation
The University of Sydney was replacing an old chiller but needed to power the new one during commissioning without hooking it up to permanent power. So they rang Active Air Rentals for generator hire and power distribution.
The Solution
The Active Air Rentals electrical team specified a 165kVA hire generator would do the job. The location was a little difficult to get into, so the generator was delivered onsite, a 75m cable run was installed to a sub mains board which then connected to the chiller.
The Outcome
Despite the difficult location and long cable run the project was a great success.
